My wife took her new used car for a safety check, on the advice of a friend, to Frank’s. They claims to have done the check but that the amount of work it would need was so great it wasn’t worth the bother and that she should just buy a new car. I guess the fact that my wife’s car was a ’93 and bought for next to nothing led them to believe that she was too cheap to have repairs done.
Nothing was given in writing detailing what the inspection uncovered. They simply demanded the $80, dismissed any attempt for clarification and, when my wife went to pick up her car, couldn’t even have been bothered to reconnect the battery.
A second opinion from another garage informed us that there were only two problems bad enough to fail the certification — one of which they recommended we fix ourselves
