  1. I contacted Mobile Mechanics to come look at my 2001 Glastron boat. I had just purchased it and it was operating great for weeks but wanted to ensure there was nothing we needed to worry about.
Peter said it was $150 to come for an hour, he arrived on time, looked at the engine, started it up and did a few tests, overall 20 minutes worth of work (still charged the 150) and then said it was working great. The next day I took it out and it wouldnt idle, it would start but then if I put it into nuetral would die. I emailed Peter asking if he changed anything and he said no. I pushed back as I was sure I saw him playing with something around the carborator and he said no he didn’t change anything.
Weeks went by with me having serious issues starting it up, once it started moving it would work great but it just wouldn’t idle and the idle speed seemed too low. I took it to another mechanic who said the idle speed was changed and there was no way it would work properly with how low it was set to, he turned the idle screw once clockwise and BAM, it was back to it’s normal self again.
I am very disapointed in Mobile Mechanics, I would recommend to anyone, just take your boat somewhere (George Marina in Carp is great, and much cheaper!)

  2. I have had nothing but good experiences with work done by Peter, I usually do my own engine repairs but when over my head I have had Peter do both boat and car repairs for me ,once he diagnosed and repaired a starter problem for me while my van was parked in a tight space in the garage that otherwise would have required me to have it manually pushed out of the garage , and then towed to a garage to be fixed .
I think that he is fair with his prices and brings a very well equipped workshop right to your site, charging the same rate as the average garage , but bring the garage to you.
…. doesn’t that have a value? do the math!

  3. Peter did a great job aligning the old inboard engine on my old sailboat. Had to remove to engine in order to do a repair but was unable to properly align it afterwards – Peter came out within a few days of being contacted and fixed things right up. A good job.

  4. I recently purchased a 1984 with a V4 volvo penta engine. Peter got it to start and took pride in his work. He went through the whole engine from the starter on, replaced a few parts as he went. Very affordable, friendly will definitely use again to winterize. Highly recommend.
